The Comptroller General of Kogi State Vigilante Service, Cdr. AbdulRahman Mariam Adinoyi (rtd). deploys vigilante personnel across the state at the early our of 1st August 2024, the scheduled day for the Hunger National Protest. This deployment aims to ensure public safety and manage potential disruptions associated with the anticipated national protest.
The Comptroller General has stated that deployment is a precautionary measure designed to support local law enforcement and maintain public order. “Our primary objective is to facilitate a safe and orderly environment for all participants and to address any issues that may arise swiftly,” the Comptroller General said.
Personnel were positioned at strategic locations at Stevedore Medical Warehouse, ADP Warehouse, in the state capital Lokoja, including major intersections and key public facilities, to provide enhanced monitoring and response capabilities. The deployment is prepared to assist in managing crowds and addressing any emerging challenges.
The Comptroller General underscored the commitment to respecting the right to peaceful protest while ensuring that activities proceed without significant disruption.
In a recent statement, the Comptroller General of Kogi State Vigilante Service commended the Kogi state governor, His Excellency Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his proactive measures in advancing the welfare of the state’s residents. The governor’s initiatives, which have significantly enhanced community well-being, have played a crucial role in mitigating potential unrest and diverting the state from participating in the anticipated national protest.
According to the Comptroller General, the governor’s forward-thinking policies and responsive actions have fostered a sense of stability and satisfaction among the populace. This positive atmosphere, the Comptroller General noted, is instrumental in maintaining social harmony and avoiding disruptions that might otherwise have arisen from the national protest movement.
The governor’s commitment to addressing key issues and improving living conditions has been recognized as a pivotal factor in ensuring that the state remains focused on progress rather than engaging in nationwide demonstrations.
